Mike Gerbic "Pop" Mike Gerbic, 86, passed away March 13, 2005 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born Aug. 11, 1918 in Highland Boy Bingham Canyon, Utah to Bude and Staka Gerbich. Married Avis Thompson in Springville, Utah in Oct. of 1946. They were later divorced. Mike "Pop" lived for sports, especially basketball, and he was a basketball star at Bingham High School. Family meant everything to him. He loved to spoil his great-grandkids and talked about the constantly. He was stubborn, loud, generous, and funny, but mostly he was big-hearted. He loved to joke with everyone he met. He was honored to serve his county during World War II serving in the Pacific for three years. He retired as a boilermaker at Kennecott Copper. Survived by son, Stephen Gerbic; daughter, Sylvia (Bert) Davis; grandsons, Jeff (Angela) Davis and Terry (Stacie) Davis; great-grandson, Riley; great-granddaughters, Sunshine and Heather; and great-grandson, Alex; sisters, Anna Lisnich and Dorothy Kenner.

HARRIS, MARY LEE GERBICH Age 76, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2001, after a short illness related to carcinoma, at Sutter General Hospital. Born November 14, 1924, in Highland Boy, Bingham Canyon, Utah, to Bude and Staka Gerbich. She worked for Pacific Bell in Sacramento for over 30 years. She was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital for 30 years. Preceded in death by her parents, sister Mildred and brothers Pete and Robert. Survived by sisters Anna Lisnich, Roseville, CA; Dorothy Kenner, New York City; brother Mike Gerbich, Midvale, Utah; many nieces and nephews, and long-time close friend Ernestina Rosenthal and daughter Kim Ismail. Friends are welcome for visitation Tuesday, October 30th, from 12pm to 7pm and are invited to attend Funeral Services on Wednesday, October 31st at 11:30am, all at NICOLETTI, CULJIS & HERBERGER, 5401 Folsom Blvd. Entombment, East Lawn Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to American Cancer Society.

As you can see this certificate doesn't look very official. Listing the country as Yugoslavia isn't saying all that much, nor is there an arrival day and boat listed which is commonly recorded on all ship manifests.
