Anton Gerbic & Anna Yancher

Anton Gerbic married Anna Yancher August 30, 1897 in St. Vitus Church, Cleveland, Ohio.  Anton was born December 30, 1870 in Kombreska, Jugoslavia. 

Their Children are....

Anna, born March 1, 1898 - March 4, 1908 died in Collinwood school fire

Emily, born July 5, 1899 - March 4, 1908 died in Collinwood school fire (this child may or may not have existed)

Female child, born April 18, 1901 - died before April 10, 1910

Antone John, born Nov. 27, 1902

Theresa Rosalie, born April 11, 1906

Frank, born May 19, 1911 - died as a child

As you can see we have the ship and date that Anton came to America on, easy to look it up and find out who he came with from the ship records.  Easy!  Not!  I have all the microfilm for all the ships at our local Family History Center, he's there somewhere.  The problem is that everything is handwritten in script, so it makes it almost unreadable.  It takes time to study the handwriting and figure out what each letter looks like when paired next to another one.  Have you ever spent a few hours on a microfilm machine staring at little tiny print trying to understand what your reading?  I've done it many times, and trust me I rather have a root canal.  Thus there is still lots of work to be done.

Anton & Anna retired are still living at 16021 Waterloo, their son Anton Jr. daughter-in-law, Jennie, grandsons Anton and Thomas are living with them. 

Anton says that he is from Italy-Trieste and immigrated in 1892, Anna immigrated 1895 and they are both naturalized citizens.
